Fairy Ring Puffballs
My route to walk took me past a fairy ring this morning; a fairy ring of puffballs!
The bright white fruit bodies were growing around the circumference of a circle; singly and in clumps.
The plump, pillowy white fruit bodies enclosed perfectly white gleba (the spore-bearing inner mass).
The outer surfaces were covered in fine white scales; you can see where they've come off on the grass, next to the fruit body.
